Conservation efforts at jurong lake park

The park management officials at jurong lake park put up signboards encouraging visitors to conserve water .

The authorities does regular checks by patrolling the sea on a speed boat

The authorities are doing their part to safeguard the natural environment. Their efforts are not very effective as there are still people littering and dead fishes in the water . The authorities and park management should step up and do extra patrolling to make sure that no litter and dead organisms are found in the water.

Part D: Impact on man on jurong lake park

Humans have been littering and causing pollution to the water in jurong lake park.

Plastic bags like this has been often found in the water. This would cause great harm to the aquatic animals there. Those aquatic animals would chew on the plastic bag, thinking it is food and often get chocked, entangled by the plastic bag. Hence, many aquatic animals would slowly die, and as a result, the ecosystem would be largely damaged.

Why we need to conserve the biodiversity? How do we conserve them?

Biodiversity is important. One example of biodiversity is trees. Trees provide shelter, food and habitat for many living organisms. Some trees may help to cure some diseases, like cancer
. Without trees, many living organisms will lose their habitats.Without trees, some organisms will get their food. Without trees, many living organisms may eventually die and slowly, the population of living organisms will decrease, thus affecting us, Human. We feed on living organisms like fish, meat and many other more.Every animals are interlinked, including us. Without living organisms, we will not have food to consume and this will cause us to suffer form hunger and may eventually die. Thus, it is important to conserve the biodiversity.

In order to conserve the biodiversity, we need to stop some human activities like over-fishing, polluting the land, air, water, deforestation and many more. These human activities will not only harm the living organisms, Earth, but also us. We rely on the living organisms for food. So, we need to cut down all the human activities and conserve the biodiversity.

Other organisms found in Jurong Lake Park

Deforestation // Cutting down of trees

Trees are not only provide papers for human to use, but also provide habitat for many living organisms. When people cut down trees, other organisms living on the trees will be affected.Slowly, the population of the organisms will decrease and this may affect us. In order to protect and preserve all those organisms, we have to stop deforestation as these harm many organisms. Some of them become extinct due to deforestation. Trees provide shelter and habitat for many living organisms. Some trees provide food to animals too. For example, squirrels live on trees. If trees are chopped down, squirrels will lose their habitats.Slowly, the population of the squirrels will decrease, and may become extinct. Some of us feed on squirrels. If the population of squirrels decrease, we will no longer have squirrels to feed on. Thus, we need to stop deforestation and save the animals.

Pollution

There are different type of pollution. The common in Jurong Lake Park is water pollution.  They are many living organisms living in the pond such as tadpole, fish, frog and many more. When people pollute the water, the living organisms may get choked by the pollutants and may eventually die. Without those living organisms, it will affect us as we are all interlink. We feed on fish, it is a source of food. Without food, we will die as we need food to survive. We get our energy from the food we eat. As the population of fish decrease, the population of human may decrease too as we feed on them. When people pollute the animal living in the water, they will get poison and may die. Some fish will not die. However, they will carry the poison in their body. When we feed on them, we will get poison. If it get serious, we may die too. Thus, it is important to make sure that we do not pollute the water and cause water pollution. Not only we are polluting the environment, but also we are harming ourselves. In order to prevent all these from happening, we have to follow the signboard and play our part together to save the Earth.
